More Than a New Website

The Merino Motor Inn project went well beyond creating a new online presence. DD Digital worked with owners Jono and Tam to develop a modern digital experience that better reflects the improvements they have made throughout the property and gives guests a clearer picture of what to expect before they arrive. 


The new website brings together accommodation, dining and motel information in a clean, easy-to-navigate experience, while providing a strong foundation for ongoing search visibility and digital marketing.

The Challenge

Merino Motor Inn had evolved considerably under its new owners, with improvements across the rooms, restaurant, facilities and overall guest experience. The digital presence needed to catch up. The project required more than simply refreshing the appearance of the website. Accommodation options needed to be easier to understand, The Merino Restaurant needed greater prominence, content needed to perform better in search, and the overall digital experience needed to accurately represent the quality of the property. There was also an opportunity to connect the website with digital communications throughout the motel.

What We Did

DD Digital rebuilt the Merino Motor Inn website on the Motifo platform, powered by Duda, creating a modern responsive site structured around the way guests actually research and book accommodation. Individual room types were given dedicated pages with clearer accommodation information and search-optimised content. Dining was brought forward as an important part of the Merino experience, with dedicated restaurant and menu content. The project was then extended beyond the website. DD Digital integrated restaurant information with the motel's in-room televisions and manages promotional content displayed on the reception television, creating a more connected digital experience throughout the guest's stay.

The result is more than a new website. Merino Motor Inn now has a digital presence that extends from the guest's initial accommodation search through to their experience at the property. The website, accommodation content, restaurant information, in-room menus on the TVs and the reception display work together to provide a more consistent representation of the Merino brand.
